Read on to find out !

Around the World in just one night?

Many things help Santa go around the world in just one night. Time zones help. When it's night time in one place, it's day time in others. Not everyone in the world celebrates Christmas. Those Reindeer fly pretty fast. Only on Christmas Eve, the night time stays with Santa, until he has finished visiting all the good children. And of course he has that special Santa Magic!

Elves

Elves are very special people who are very kind, and terrific toy makers. They are kind of small and most have pointy ears and squeaky voices. Most Elves live and work at the North Pole. But a few look like regular people and secretly live in different places around the world. There might be an Elf with you right now! They help Santa with everything he does. They take good care of the Reindeer, and make all sorts of wonderful toys. They keep up with the naughty & nice list, and always know where all the children of the world live. Like the Reindeer, there are just too many Elves to count!

Lump of coal?

Why does Santa leave a lump of coal for children on the naughty list? Santa believes there is good in all children. Long ago, Santa started leaving coal so at least for one day, the children on the naughty list would have something to keep them warm.

REINDEER
Santa and the Elves have some special food for the Reindeer that helps them fly. It's only found at the North Pole and only grows in December, just in time for Christmas Eve. Red Pixie dust also helps them fly and Rudolph loves Red Pixie dust. Can you guess why his nose is red?

There are lots Reindeer at the North Pole. So many that Santa lost count a long time ago.  Can you name the Reindeer who pull his sleigh? Don't forget Rudolph.

Santa Claus

Santa has always been a kind and jolly man who loves to bring gifts to all the good children of the world. No one knows how old he is, not even Mrs. Claus. It seems like there has always been Santa!
Because so many people have come to believe in Santa, it became hard for him to get his work done. So Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves moved to the North Pole many years ago where they could work and live.
It's very cold there and it snows a lot too. He wears that big red suit to keep warm, and its help Mrs Claus see him out in the snowy Reindeer field. To get the Elves attention from far away he yells Ho! Ho!Ho! and then tells them what he wants to say.
Ho! Ho!Ho! it's time to feed the Reindeer!
Ho! Ho!Ho! it's time for cookies and milk!
It has also become the way he laughs, plus it's kind of fun to say. You should try it.

Why does he come down the chimney?

Long long ago, before electricity, homes were made with large fire places to heat the home and cook  meals. Often there was a rear door to the out side  used to bring in wood or coal and remove ashes. Santa could enter through the rear door and secretly leave gifts for the good girls and boys on Christmas Eve.
Today, with a little Santa magic, he can enter from the top of the chimney, and even come in homes without a chimney to secretly leave those special gifts and treats.

Naughty or Nice

Being on the "Nice List" is important all year round, not just at Christmas time. Did you know that Santa has Elves everywhere who watch and report back to the North Pole? Is there an Elf on the Shelf in your home or School?

There are lots of things you can do to make the nice list. Being kind, helpful, respectful, doing your best in school, just to name a few. How many more can you think of?

Santa knows that sometimes even the best children and even grownups do or say things they shouldn't. You can always do things to get your name removed from the Naughty List.
Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves love to move names back to the Nice List!
Remember it's never to early or too late to work on getting your name on the Nice List!
